DKG Teacher Shadowing in the European Region

From 2017 until 2019, I have had some time to act on what DKG means to me: building international connections.
In my Easter Break 2017, I went to Helsinki to visit my LMS (Leadership Management Seminar) friend, Iida. She gave me the opportunity of visiting a school, attending her classes and talking to her eight-year old students about Germany.
In October 2017, Iida came to Rastede to stay at my house and shadowed me at my work for a day. She also spent a day in the elementary school next to our secondary school. We had a really good time and received a lot of input for our professional work.

In September, Saskia, a DKG member from Estonia, came to my school “KGS Rastede” to gain an insight into everyday school life in Germany. We had a great day and enjoyed getting to know each other even better.

It is my strong conviction that these kinds of experiences are a great opportunity for every teacher of our society, not only to travel, but to get to know how school “works” in different countries. Without any bureaucracy, it should be possible to visit each other and shadow each other at work. So I offer to maintain a list of interested people and will try to match them. If somebody is interested in this kind of exchange, please feel free to contact your state president or your European Forum member to get more information and my email address.

I strongly recommend you take advantage of this possibility that DKG offers to us members. Go for this opportunity!!!
